When both handles are pulled back the cylinder will extend out. When it reaches full extension, the first spool will go into neutral and begin retracting.  When ram makes  full retraction, the second spool will kit out and the cycle is complete .  To start the next cycle pull both handles back

The Prince LSR-3060-3 Log Splitter valve has a fast   ( RAPID EXTEND HIGH SPEED MODE FOR LOG SPLITTERS )

 

Has average of 50% reduction in amount of time it takes to get a fully retracted cylinder

 

extended.  Built to reduce system cost by working with a less expensive single stage

 

pump. When splitting wood and the need for that extra splitting  force , the LSR -3060-3

 

will allow the user to manually shift from high speed mode to high splitting force  mode.

 

Advantage of the LSR eliminates the need for a Hi-Lo  pump, reduces the overall cost of building  a typical wood splitter.

   Hi, a few weeks ago I purchased a Prince LSR-3060 2-speed valve from you, with the intention of using it on a tractor(~7gpm) for a 3pt mounted splitter.  At the time you had asked for an update on how it ended up working out.
    Having finished the splitter I can report it works very well in controlling 2 speeds. The lever has 2 stops for extension, pull it all the way out and the ram moves at about double speed, once it hits resistance release the lever and pull it again to the slow stop (about halfway for full force). However, what I think is really cool is that after contacting a log and getting the initial split at the slow speed, you can then pull the lever all the way out again and split through the full length of the log at the faster speed thus saving time.
